Activity 2 - Comparing the brightness of the bulbs

You may use the applet to solve the following questions

(A)Set up the circuit with the three bulbs as shown.

1. Rank the bulb according to their brightness
2. Measure the potential difference across each bulb.
3. Does the ranking of the brightness coincide with ranking of the potential difference?

(B)Set up the circuit shown below.

1. Using an ammeter, measure the current passing through the battery as well as the current through each of the bulbs. Rank them in decreasing order.
2. Using a voltmeter, measure the potential difference across the battery as well as potential difference across each of the bulbs.  
3. Rank the bulbs in order of their brightness and explain your answer based on what you have measured.
